Community Forum Notification Emails Update (July 2022)

What’s happening?

Very soon, we’re making a behind-the-scenes update that will help your Glowforge experience be more consistent. For most of you, this won’t change a thing. But for a few Glowforge Owners Forum users, this may change how you receive notifications from the forum.

First, some background:

  • When you log in at Glowforge.com, you’re using your Glowforge login email address. 
  • When you use the Glowforge Owners Forum, you get notification emails at your forum notification email address. 
  • For most forum users, these email addresses are the same. There are a few cases, though, where these don’t match. 

This change will make sure that your forum email address is the same as your Glowforge login email address. Following this change, you won’t be able to make changes to your forum notification email address - it will always match your Glowforge login email. 

 

When is this happening? 

The change will be happening on Wednesday, July 6th.

 

Do I need to do anything?

Nope! This change will occur automatically. 

 

What is my forum notification email address used for?

Your forum notification email address is only used to send you notification and updates from the Glowforge Community Forum. That’s it!

 

Will this change my username in the forum?

Nope! Your forum notification email and username are separate - this change will not affect your username. 

 

My forum notification email is different from my Glowforge login email - what does this mean for me?

This means that once the change occurs, you’ll receive your forum notification emails to the same email address you use to log in at Glowforge.com.
