Replace the Silver Laser Window

Glowforge Basic/Plus/Pro

Inside the left-hand side of your Glowforge Pro, Plus, or Basic you'll find a silver box with a small, silver-ringed orange window, which protects the mirrors and optics  from harmful dust and dirt. This is the silver laser window.

If it's scratched, damaged, or has stuck-on residue, prints can go awry and the window will need to be replaced. A new silver laser window can be purchased in the Glowforge shop

Here's how to replace the silver laser window:

  1. Turn off your Glowforge.

  2. Lift the lid.

  3. Locate the silver box on the far-left side of the Glowforge.

  4. On the box, find the silver-ringed orange window.

  5. Unscrew the window. (For a better grip, try a rubber glove.)

  6. Screw in the new window.

  7. Clean the new window with a Zeiss wipe.
