Glowforge Basic/Plus/Pro
When the cartridge in your Performance Filter gets full, airflow will slow. A beeping sound will notify you that the cartridge needs to be changed. (You can slightly extend the cartridge life by increasing the fan speed, but you should change the cartridge as soon as you can.)
The beeping notification may not sound if the carbon in the filter has been exhausted, but air can still flow freely through the filter.
When you detect odors during printing even with the Performance Filter dial set to “Full," you should change the cartridge. New filter cartridges are available in our shop.
Here’s how to install your new filter cartridge.
-
Turn off your Performance Filter.
The power switch is located on the back, next to the cord. Turn it off, then unplug the Performance Filter from the wall. -
Open your Performance Filter.
Four latches secure the top of the Performance Filter. Release all four by lifting them from the bottom. (You don't need to remove the exhaust hose.) -
Remove and dispose of the old cartridge.
Grab and lift the metal lip to remove the filter cartridge. Dispose of it in the garbage.Lift the filter cartridge out
-
Replace with a new filter cartridge.
Start by unwrapping the new filter cartridge and inspecting it for damage. Lower the new filter cartridge in the same way you removed the old one. -
Latch the lid closed and re-check the exhaust hose.
Inspect each latch to ensure it is fully closed. Grab the lid handles and pull upward on the lid to ensure it does not come off. Finally, check that the exhaust hose hasn't disconnected from the lid or the back of your Glowforge.
